Sony a350 vs Sony a3500: read noise comparison
Sony a350DxO
The Sony a350 (DSLR-A350) was measured at 6 ISO settings from ISO 100 to ISO 3200. Values were derived by Bill Claff from DxOMark lab data.
At base ISO (100) read noise is 1.83 DN. From ISO 200 up the camera is effectively ISO-invariant: raising ISO further doesn't meaningfully lower shadow noise.
Sony a3500Twin
The Sony a3500 (ILCE-3500) was measured at 9 ISO settings from ISO 100 to ISO 16000. This model has no measurement of its own; the Sony a3000, which uses the same sensor, is shown.
At base ISO (100) read noise is 2.57 DN, or 5 electrons at the sensor. From ISO 400 up the camera is effectively ISO-invariant: raising ISO further doesn't meaningfully lower shadow noise. Settings above ISO 6400 don't change analog gain (digital push). Full well at base ISO is about 30,963 electrons; unity gain is around ISO 190.
